How to Pray the Rosary

Welcome to our prayer page. Feel free to print this page out for
your own personal use. We hope that you'll find more fulfillment
in prayer and offer this page as our help.

The Rosary

The Rosary is a simple yet profound means of meditating on the life of
Our Lord. While reciting the prayers, we are to be thinking of the
Mystery. Placing ourselves in the Mystery helps us to conform our lives to the Life of Christ..
The Rosary is the most powerful means of prayer besides the Holy Mass.
While praying, we can offer our prayer for souls, for the reparation of
sins or for our own intentions. The Blessed Mother desires that
everyone pray the Rosary, because it is by this means that she will chain
satan. If we offer our Rosaries for Our Lady's intentions, she can use our
prayers in a powerful way
.

  1. one Sign of the Cross and one Apostles' Creed
  2. one Our Father for the Pope
  3. three Hail Marys for Faith, Hope and Charity
  4. one Glory Be
  5. announce the First Mystery and say one Our Father
  6. ten Hail Marys
  7. one Glory Be
  8. announce the Second Mystery and say one Our Father
  9. ten Hail Marys
  10. one Glory Be
  11. announce the Third Mystery and say one Our Father
  12. ten Hail Marys
  13. one Glory Be
  14. announce the Fourth Mystery and say one Our Father
  15. ten Hail Marys
  16. one Glory Be
  17. announce the Fifth Mystery and say one Our Father
  18. ten Hail Marys
  19. one Glory Be
  20. one Hail Holy Queen and Other Prayers

One rosary encompasses five mysteries.  There are five Joyful Mysteries, five Sorrowful Mysteries and five Glorious Mysteries, and now, through Pope John Paul II, we have the Luminous Mysteries.  Each mystery depicts episodes in either Jesus' life or the Blessed Mother's life.  They are rich with meaning for our own lives.  By praying the mysteries on each rosary, we meditate what they mean to our own lives and soon our lives are conformed to Christ.  The more you pray your rosary, the more you will be drawn to prayer.  Many graces come from Praying the rosary

Joyful Mysteries:  1)Annunciation; 2)Mary Visits Elizabeth; 3)Birth of Jesus; 4)Presentation in the Temple; 5)Finding Jesus in the Temple

Sorrowful Mysteries:  1)Jesus in the Garden in Gethsemane; 2)Scourging at the Pillar; 3)Crowning of Thorns; 4) Jesus Carries His Cross; 5)Jesus Dies on the Cross

Glorious Mysteries:  1)Jesus Rises from the Dead; 2)Jesus Ascends to Heaven; 3)Descent of the Holy Spirit; 4)Assumption of Mary into Heaven; 5)Mary is Crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth.

Luminous Mysteries:  1)Baptism of our Lord;  2)Wedding at Cana;  3) Proclamation of the Kingdom:  4)Transfiguration;  5)Institution of the Eucharist.

If you pray the rosary from the heart, you are praying a perfect prayer which brings results -- absolutely.  Turn to your Heavenly Mother, she desires to help us with all the problems of life.
